About WaldorfMinds

Who can join?

The communities of Waldorf schools and kindergartens: students from 14, parents, teachers, alumni and friends, from anywhere in the world. Schools, kindergartens and initiatives, like farms that host exchange students, can have their own profile too.

How is it different from other social networks?

It’s made for Waldorf communities, not for everyone. There are no ads, no feed designed to keep you scrolling, and no pressure to perform. Each area is there to help people share, make things and meet.

Is it free?

Yes, and it’ll stay that way. We’re a non-profit project, and we want WaldorfMinds to stay open to every school community, whatever their resources.

What do you get out of it?

Nothing financial. Everyone on the team is a volunteer, and any support we receive goes into building and caring for the app. What we get is the chance to build something together, and to give something back to the community that shaped us.

Is WaldorfMinds an official part of the Waldorf movement?

We’re an independent project made by students, parents, alumni and teachers of Waldorf schools, and we don’t speak for the schools or their associations. The Bund der Freien Waldorfschulen has authorised us to use the name “Waldorf”, and we’re in conversation with the Hague Circle about working together. Read our story.

Where does the map come from?

It’s the Steiner Waldorf World Map from steinerwaldorf.world, made by the Freunde der Erziehungskunst and the Hague Circle. We didn’t build it: we’ve embedded it in the app, so you can see Waldorf schools, kindergartens, initiatives, federations and much more in one place.

Safety and privacy

Is WaldorfMinds safe for younger members?

You have to be at least 14, and 14- and 15-year-olds need a parent’s or guardian’s consent. Members under 18 can only send private messages to other students, and no setting can switch that off.

We check every organisation by hand, a person reads every report, and child safety reports always come first. Read our Child Safety Policy.

What happens to my data?

It’s stored on servers in Zurich, Switzerland. We never sell it and never use it for ads. Private messages are only seen by you and the person you’re talking to, unless one of you reports a message. Everything is in our Privacy Policy.

How do I report something that feels wrong?

Use the report tools in the app, or write to privacy@waldorfminds.org. You can report anonymously, and you’ll never get in trouble for raising a concern. If something might harm a young person, please report it even if you can’t say exactly why.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, anytime, in your account settings. Your profile, posts and messages are deleted within 30 days.

For schools and initiatives

How can our school or initiative join?

Start at app.waldorfminds.org/org-join: look for your school on the map, claim it, and tell us how to reach you. We check every request within 24 hours. There’s more on our page for schools.

Our school is already on the map. What changes?

It’s there because the Steiner Waldorf World Map lists it. You can claim it and look after it yourselves, fixing any details if needed. If anything’s unclear, write to hello@waldorfminds.org.

Our school isn’t on the map yet.

When you sign up, we’ll show you how to add it to steinerwaldorf.world. Once it’s there, you can claim it in the app.

Didn’t find your answer?

Ask us directly. A real person on the team reads every message.
